APPLICATION PROCESS

To apply for Visa, you must have Confirmation of Enrolment from Australian Education Provider, for student visa you have to apply for Student Visa Subclass 500.

Step 1: Select a visa Subclass and relevant visa application form

Step 2: Gather all the supporting documents

Step 3: Use assessment tools to access your profession and find out whether you will pass the assessment process or not.

Step 4: File for an ‘Expression of Interest’.

Step 5: once visa application is accepted by the Australian Immigration Department,        police and medical checks are initiated.

Step 6: Visa is granted

COURSE INFORMATION<

SCHOLARSHIP

There are limited scholarships available to study in Canada, but they rarely cover the full cost of a program and are not always easy to find. Scholarships are available to international students with exceptional results at some institutions. The amount awarded varies from one institution to another and usually covers only a segment of a student’s education and living expenses. Obtaining a scholarship is very competitive and applications must be made directly to each university along with the application for admission. Community and Career Colleges do not usually award scholarships nor do school boards or most private schools. Scholarships depend on whether students are pursuing under graduation or post-graduation in Canada.

Types of Scholarship

Sports Scholarship

Universities and colleges often encourage students who have a resume which shows proof of a national/state/district level experience in fields of several sports. With the increasing popularity of extracurricular, sports as an area are becoming a crucial factor in the admission process when students decide to study in Canada from India.

Ethnic Scholarships

Individuals belonging to a particular race/ethnicity are often awarded scholarships in some circumstances, if adequate authentic information is provided to universities. Asian/Pacific Islander Scholarships: - Just as there are scholarships specifically targeted towards Latino, Hispanic, African American, and Native American minority students, there are scholarships solely for Asian or Pacific Islander students. American Indian/Native American Scholarships: - Since there are fewer Native Americans than there are Latinos, Hispanics, and African Americans, there is less competition when it comes to Native American scholarships.

Merit-Based Scholarships

There are two types of scholarships, those which are awarded by universities and those which are awarded by other organizations. Merit-based scholarships are typically awarded for impeccable academic scores but some merit scholarships are awarded for special talents, potential leaders, or other personal characteristics

PRE-DEPARTURE

• Passport and Visa – Check that your passport is valid for at least 6 months prior to your entry into Australia, and that you have all your visa documentation. It is also a good idea to make copies of your passport in case you lose your passport.
• Student enrolment and orientation documents – You will need your electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE) and student information pack, which you will have received from your institution.
• Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) – This is a requirement for entry to Australia, so make sure you have your health cover policy arranged before you leave home.
• Travel Insurance – You should also consider travel insurance, which covers things your OSHC may not – such as cancelled flights, lost documents, dental or optical care, etc.
• Airfares – Make sure you are aware of the date and time of your flight. Keep your flight details in a safe and secure place, with your passport and visa.
• Contact details – You may want to have a list of emergency contact details for family, as well as your embassy, accommodation and institution details. If you have used an education agent, keep their contact details on you, in case you need to contact them once you arrive in Australia.
• Australian currency – There are money exchange places available at Australian airports and in cities, but it is recommended to have some Australian currency on you prior to leaving your home country.
• Transport from the airport – Whether you are taking public transport, a taxi, or you are being picked up from the airport by your education provider, it is important that you have all the details including the time, the route and, if your travel has been arranged by your institution, their contact details. If you need a map to assist you in getting to your accommodation from the airport, they will be available at the airport, or you can print one prior to leaving.
• Accommodation details – Make sure you have the address of where you will be staying as well as their phone number and payment confirmation (if you have already paid for your accommodation).
